Shibuya Diversity Award
Our team received the Shibuya Diversity Award at the festival in Tokyo!
What the Japanese jury particularly appreciated was the way Baldies speaks to children about cancer - sensitively, openly and without frightening them. Knowing that our approach can be understood and considered meaningful on the other side of the world is incredibly important to us.
The award was presented to our director, Eliška Soffer Podzimek, by Ken Hasebe, Mayor of Shibuya. After the ceremony, he told us how much he appreciates Czech animation and that it was a great honour for him to present this particular award to our team.
The ceremony took place in the very heart of Tokyo at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA. Afterwards, we moved on to Amazon Music Studio Tokyo / Studio 126 Tokyo, where we celebrated this very special moment properly!
Receiving an award in Tokyo was wonderful. But knowing that the message behind Baldies can cross languages, cultures and borders means even more. 💛
